What sorts of game can a Cocker be expected to handle? Birds the size of Pheasants and Mallards should be no problem for even the smallest English Cockers. In the UK they are used for rabbit, and I think we should continue to require them to handle fur as well as feathers. On the “gallery” page there is a picture of my old Daley dog retrieving a huge White Tail Jackrabbit. It usually takes a good sized male to handle a hare that size with style. We have used our dogs on Sage grouse up to 6lbs. I’ve known of a couple which could retrieve geese and one guy’s little dog towed a tundra swan to shore. But, if big geese are your primary quarry the cockers aren’t your best choice
Training advice: We are always happy to share what has worked for us. It is likely that over the last 30+ years we have picked up a few things which might help you.

There are several books I can recommend.
It’s good to get with a local spaniel club if available. There has never been one nearby where we live.

Interested parties may reserve a puppy on a first come, first served basis. We have found that often by the time we contact the folks on a waiting list, their circumstances have changed
Deposits:I don’t feel comfortable taking deposits until the pups are born. We don’t have a set amount, just a reasonable percentage of the purchase price.
Guarantees: We will replace any dog that does not satisfy as replacements become available . Congenital or hereditary defects are valid grounds for replacing a dog.

When would you be able to let the puppy go to new home?-

Will I be able to register a puppy with AKC and to get a pedigree? Yes

What are the conditions on which you can sell a puppy, or could you send to me a draft of the contract?
I have never found conditions and contract necessary,unless I am retaining breeding rights. I have found my customers to be pretty honest, I have been fortunate to deal with folks whose word is their bond
